Cream 1 1/2 cups sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Sift salt, flour, and soda and mix into creamed mixture. Shape into balls. Mix 2 T. sugar with 1 T. cinnamon. Roll dough balls in cinnamon mixture. Place on baking sheets and flatten with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
